Art Discussion : DNA-Like & Waveform Shapes

I hadn’t realized how much I consider ancestry, genes and DNA until certain shapes started showing up in my Art work in multiple areas. A large part of what I do is experience repetitive motion which holds a lot of unseen value within the energy produced. I use that, it’s an experiment.

This frequency dancing with the art materials and created shapes in a very elemental way provides a sustenance in which I choose from. I choose a feeling, a sensation rather than an emotion, to seep through the shape and color similar to the water element. Once I find it and this marriage is accomplished, the “feeling” remains un-named in order to illicit a unique personal experience.

These ink washes were all born from waveforms. A movement of my body with a long brush and very wet ink. The gesture completes something intrinsically for me. It is then repeated stirring up the available sensation.

That is where these first pieces came from, the ones above. They are all 11 ” x 14 ” ink on paper.
(fyi if you click a small image you are brought to a gallery to click through of the groups of pieces)

With more form and thought by spending time with what I painted I felt drawn to represent some of the aspects and they turned out a bit more literal- sliding away from the gesture and into the possible meanings, especially when considering where we are in history on the planet, in science, in spirituality, basically wherever you look something is transitioning. This process I’m working in is a very watery process. Water holds information. Water holds a completely different type of information than we cognitively can comprehend most of the time. It’s unknown. It’s new. This is where we are, moving into what is next. These two paintings are how I see the energetics of this phenomenon we have embarked upon.

It’s akin to electrified water, how the frequency feels physically, but also associated with our breath.
It is associated with our breath in the sense of how the breath connects us to the world in a very different way than our feet do.

If all of that had a word it would be THAT, my description of our transitional frequencies.
There’s no word, so I painted it.
